Your Role in Our Mission

As Specialist – IT, you will play a critical role in setting up and maintaining the IT infrastructure of our new office in Malaysia. You will lead the full build-out of office IT systems, ensuring they meet operational, security, and compliance requirements. From physical servers to network setup, accesits control, and device readiness, your work will lay the foundation for a high-performance and secure IT environment that aligns with NEXT Ventures’ global standards.

How You’ll Make an Impact

IT Infrastructure Setup & Build-Out

• Lead the setup of office servers, network systems, and access controls.

• Oversee installation and configuration of routers, switches, firewalls, and Wi-Fi.

• Coordinate vendor engagements for ISP, cabling, CCTV, and security systems.

Device & System Management

• Manage device procurement proposals and coordinate approvals with the global IT team.

• Ensure proper configuration and deployment of laptops, desktops, and peripherals (including MacBooks).

• Set up and maintain device security, backups, and connectivity.

• Maintain accurate asset inventory records (devices, network equipment, and related IT assets).

Operational Support, Reporting & Maintenance

• Provide day-to-day IT support as the office grows, ensuring system uptime and reliability.

• Generate and maintain IT-related reports as requested by management.

• Keep detailed records of network configuration, asset usage, and system performance.

• Perform basic troubleshooting and escalate complex issues as needed.

• Continuously monitor, maintain, and improve local IT systems.

Collaboration & Compliance

• Work closely with the global IT team for standards alignment, approvals, and support.

• Ensure compliance with local regulations and internal IT policies.

• Assist in budget proposals and vendor selection while securing necessary approvals.

What You Bring

• 5 years of hands-on IT infrastructure experience, including office setup and network configuration.

• Proven experience in diverse areas of IT (e.g., networking, systems, device management, security) rather than deep specialization in one domain.

• Strong working knowledge of server and firewall configuration, network setup, and physical security systems.

• Proficiency in managing Mac and Windows environments.

• Experience coordinating with vendors for IT procurement and services.

• Excellent English communication skills (spoken and written); Malay language skills are a plus.

• Strong problem-solving ability, attention to detail, and organizational skills.

• CompTIA Network+, CCNA, or Apple Certified Support Professional (preferred but not mandatory).
