Job description

Who We Are

NEXT Ventures is a global fintech group operating FundedNext (proprietary trading) and FNmarkets (CFD brokerage), with teams across Malaysia, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Cyprus, and Dubai. The People & Culture HRIS team builds the technology that powers how we hire, onboard, and support our people.

Your Role in Our Mission

You are the hands-on engineer behind the HRIS team's technology platform. You design, build, deploy, and maintain end-to-end systems across backend, frontend, and DevOps, with a strong focus on agentic, AI-powered automation that extends our HR stack beyond what off-the-shelf platforms offer.

Working under the HRIS Team Lead, you turn ideas and requirements into reliable, production-grade systems, and bring an architect's mindset to how they are structured and scaled.

This is an entry-professional role. We are looking for a builder with a proven full-stack foundation and the aptitude to grow into independent system ownership, not a finished architect on day one. Advanced capabilities below are assessed as demonstrated ability or strong aptitude.

How You'll Make an Impact

End-to-end system development

  • Design and build complete systems across the stack: backend services, frontend interfaces, and the logic connecting them, from concept to production.

  • Own the full build lifecycle for assigned systems: data modeling, API development, UI implementation, and integration.

  • Apply sound UI/UX sensibility to deliver clean, usable interfaces.

Agentic and AI-powered systems

  • Build LLM integrations, agent workflows, and autonomous task execution that streamline HR processes.

  • Integrate AI/LLM APIs and orchestration tooling into internal platforms.

  • Prototype rapidly, then harden promising prototypes into dependable production tools.

System architecture and design

  • Translate requirements from the HRIS Team Lead into a clear technical architecture and buildable plan.

  • Map platform structure, data flows, and components before building; document pragmatic architectural choices.

  • Think end-to-end about how systems fit together, scale, and stay maintainable.

DevOps and infrastructure

  • Set up and manage deployment pipelines, environments, and hosting.

  • Handle version control, CI/CD, and cloud operations.

  • Monitor running systems and respond to issues to keep them reliable.

Debugging, quality, and maintenance

  • Debug complex issues across frontend, backend, integrations, and infrastructure down to root cause.

  • Write readable, well-organized, maintainable code.

  • Maintain, refactor, and improve existing systems as requirements evolve.

Collaboration and continuous improvement

  • Work closely with the HRIS Team Lead to prioritize, scope, and iterate on the technical roadmap.

  • Keep learning new languages, tools, and techniques and apply them to the platform.

  • Solve problems independently and escalate genuinely complex or ambiguous decisions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent demonstrated building ability (strong portfolio or shipped projects).

  • Experience building and shipping end-to-end systems. Academic, personal, internship, and professional projects all count at this level.

  • A portfolio or GitHub showing full-stack systems built from scratch.

  • Proficiency in JavaScript and Python.

  • Working knowledge of, or demonstrated aptitude for, Rust or another relevant stack.

  • Basic familiarity with other languages and a proven ability to learn new ones quickly.

  • Backend: API design, server logic, and databases.

  • Frontend: modern frameworks, responsive UI, and design sense.

  • Integration: connecting services, third-party APIs, and data flows.

  • Exposure to AI/LLM APIs and agentic or automation tooling, with the ability to build AI-powered features.

  • Understanding of how to orchestrate, prompt, and integrate AI components into real systems.

  • Git, deployment, and CI/CD fundamentals, with comfort in cloud and hosting environments.

X-Factor

  • Architect's mindset: you think in systems and structures, not isolated tasks.

  • Strong, resourceful debugger: you stay with a problem until you find the root cause.

  • Eager to learn: you keep developing your skills and pick up new tools quickly.

  • Self-directed problem-solver: tenacious, and able to make progress without hand-holding.

Why Join NEXT

  • Own real systems from concept to production, with room to grow into independent system ownership.

  • Build agentic, AI-powered tools that change how a global fintech group runs its People & Culture operations.

  • Work across the full stack, from architecture to DevOps, with direct guidance from the HRIS Team Lead.

  • Open question: standard NEXT benefits and perks wording to be pasted in from the internal template.
