Your Role in Our Mission

As an AI Native Software Engineer you will own the backbone of FundedNext’s payment infrastructure — integrating PSPs, automating payouts, and ensuring settlement accuracy across card, bank, and crypto flows. You’ll sit at the intersection of engineering, finance, and operations: building reliable payment services, optimizing conversion, and safeguarding data integrity. This is a high-accountability role for someone who thrives on building resilient financial systems where every transaction must be processed exactly once.

How You'll Make an Impact

SP Integration & Payment

  • Processing Implement and maintain integrations with Payment Service Providers (PSPs) — card processors, bank transfer providers, and crypto payment gateways (Payprocc, Confirmo, BinancePay, PayPal) — handling API integration, webhook processing, error handling, retry logic, and idempotency to ensure every transaction is processed exactly once.

  • Build and extend the intelligent PSP routing engine under guidance from the Engineering Lead — implementing routing rules, fallback logic, and regional preference configurations that optimize for transaction success rate, cost, and speed.

  • Implement payment conversion improvements — tokenization for one-click repurchase, checkout flow optimizations, and reducing payment-done-but-account-not-activated delays that generate support tickets.

  • Develop and maintain local payment method integrations by country — researching provider APIs, implementing country-specific payment flows, and testing across currencies to expand FundedNext's geographic payment coverage.

  • Monitor payment health metrics and resolve integration issues — tracking PSP success rates, latency, error patterns, and proactively fixing degraded integrations before they impact customer experience.

Payout Processing & Automation

  • Develop the payout address and method change workflows — building secure, auditable processes for traders to update their payout details with proper verification and fraud prevention controls.

  • Build payout status tracking and notification systems — giving traders real-time visibility into where their payout is in the processing pipeline, reducing payout-related support tickets by 30%.

  • Implement staged payout journey improvements — clear card payout flows, faster bank transfer processing with real-time status updates, and crypto payout enhancements.

Settlement, Reconciliation & Data Integrity

  • Build and maintain automated reconciliation jobs that match transactions across PSPs, internal ledgers, and the ERP system — handling transaction matching, discrepancy detection, and flagging exceptions for manual review.

  • Implement settlement data pipelines — aggregating transaction data from multiple PSPs into a unified format for financial reporting, ensuring data arrives accurately and on time for quarter-end closing and audit requirements.

  • Write and maintain financial ledger operations — ensuring ACID-compliant transaction recording, double-entry bookkeeping integrity, and complete audit trails for every payment and payout event.

  • Develop refund processing workflows — centralized refund handling across PSPs, partial refund logic, refund-to-original-method routing, and reconciliation of refunded transactions.

  • Build and maintain reporting dashboards and internal tools for the payment operations team — transaction search, payout queue management, reconciliation status views, and PSP performance metrics.

Cross-Product Support & Reliability

  • Implement payment-related reliability features — circuit breakers for PSP connections, graceful degradation when a provider is down, health check endpoints, and automated alerting for payment processing anomalies.

  • Contribute to crypto payment infrastructure — integrating with blockchain networks for crypto payouts and payments, managing transaction confirmation tracking, and handling the unique reconciliation challenges of on-chain transactions.

  • Write and maintain tests for payment-critical code paths — unit tests for financial calculations, integration tests for PSP APIs, and end-to-end tests for complete payment and payout flows to prevent regressions in money-handling logic.
